Based on the chapter “El Delirio” from the book “Blood on the couch” by Ibeyise Pacheco, the psychiatrist Edmundo Chirinos, who was rector of the Central University of Venezuela, candidate for the Presidency of Venezuela, deputy to the Constituent Assembly and doctor psychiatrist of the presidential couple Chávez-Rodríguez, delira and tries to reconstruct history from his perverse psyche, telling his life and placing himself as the protagonist of momentous events in the last 60 years of political history in Venezuela. Directed and starred by the actor and director Héctor Manrique, this work since its premiere in Caracas in 2014, has been seen by more than 60 thousand spectators during its four years of presentations. In 2014, the Association of Critics of Venezuela (Critven) and the Isaac Chocrón Foundation awarded Héctor Manrique the recognition as Best Actor for his performance of Edmundo Chirinos, a performance that has also been acclaimed by the general public.
