Recent Cinema from Spain, a film program produced by ICAA and EGEDA US, with the special collaboration of the Cultural Center of Spain and Silverspot Downtown Miami, presents Los Tigres (The Tigers).
The film received two awards at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, including the Jury Prize for Best Cinematography awarded to Pau Esteve Birba. At the Goya Awards, it won Best Special Effects and was also nominated in major categories including Best Film and Best Director.

Synopsis: Antonio and Estrella are two siblings who work as industrial divers on the coast of Huelva. The relationship between the two of them is complex. In order for Antonio to become a great diver, Estrella had to sacrifice her professional life and take care of their father, who suffered a long illness before dying. After risking their life for decades in such a dangerous profession, both are bankrupt, their father’s illness and Antonio’s bad head have left them broke. For this reason, when the opportunity arises to steal part of the cocaine shipments that are regularly brought in by the freighters that are passing through the port, Antonio and Estrella will put all their skills and expertise at the service of what may be their last job under the sea.
