CCEMiami invites you to the literary event with cuban author, Mirza L. Gonzalez on April 10th 2019, 7 p.m.

Mirza L. Gonzalez was born in Güines, Havana, Cuba, lived in Chicago several years, and resides in Miami Beach since 2003. She received an MA from Loyola University (Chicago, 1965), and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, (Evanston, Illinois, 1974). Dr. Gonzalez is a Professor Emeritus from DePaul University in Chicago, where she was a faculty member at the Modern Languages Dept. for many years. At DePaul she taught language classes at all levels, and literature courses such as Afro-Hispanic Literature, Literature of the Caribbean, and Literature of the Revolution, among others.

Dr. Gonzalez created and developed several special courses and programs; and held administrative positions as Department Coordinator and Chairperson. She has published three books: La novela y el cuento psicológicos de Miguel de Carrión (Miami: Ediciones Universal, 1979), Literatura revolucionaria hispanoamericana (Madrid: Betania, 1994), and a short story collection Astillas, fugas, eclipses (Madrid: Betania, 2001). Also numerous articles about Cuban, Latino, and Latin American literature.
