The Cultural Center of Spain in Miami (CCEMiami) presents Macro Directors for Microtheater Miami, experimenting with theatrical formats by inviting renowned theater directors to produce plays in shipping containers, where each 15-minute piece is part of a larger story that audience members can see in any order.
Macro Directors will be divided into two seasons. The first one directed by Carlos Diaz is an adaptation of Henry Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt to Microtheater’s format and will run April 19th to May 13th. The text has been written by Norge Espinosa.
The original work, Peer Gynt is a play in verse by the Norwegian dramatist, Henrik Ibsen, loosely based on the fairy tale Peer Gynt and is the most widely performed of all Norwegian plays. Ibsen wrote Peer Gynt in a deliberate disregard of the limitations that the conventional stagecraft of the 19th century imposed on drama. Its 40 scenes move uninhibitedly in time and space and between consciousness and the unconscious, blending folkloric fantasy and unsentimental realism.
The play “La Fuga” will count with the actors Yerandy Basart, Elizabeth San Miguel and Jennifer Rodriguez.
