Drag Queen Story Hour started in San Francisco in 2015 successfully presenting events across the countries in cities like New York and Tampa, in these past years. It has become a regularly event within the public libraries of those cities.

Lyn Davidson, who manages the main San Francisco children’s library, said that the library “is about giving everybody equal access to books, to stories, to ideas. It’s about opening our doors so that every single member of our community is included. Our drag queen community has something special to share too”. The Guardian

“We want to teach the kids acceptance, not bullying, learning to make good choices, how to be nice to other people¨ The New York Times

The main key that we try to teach the children is acceptance. NBC News
