The fourth edition of the Doral International Art Fair (DIAF) will bring together gallery owners, artists, curators, art critics, collectors, academics, and art enthusiasts to encourage art collecting and support the art market, while celebrating multiculturalism and promoting art as a means of fostering peace, dialogue, and social harmony.
The Centro Cultural Español de Miami will represent Spain at the fair with the exhibition Territorios del límite: cuerpo, espacio y frontera (Territories of the Threshold: Body, Space, and Border), curated by art critic Dennys Matos.
The project invites audiences to reconsider borders not only as spaces of separation but also as places of encounter, transformation, and new cultural possibilities.
The exhibition Territorios del límite: cuerpo, espacio y frontera brings together three distinguished Spanish artists, Mar Solís, Susana Guerrero, and Emilia Martín Fierro, whose work explores some of the fundamental questions of contemporary culture.
Through sculpture, painting, photography, and installation, the artists reflect on three essential concepts: space and perception in the work of Mar Solís; the body, mythology, and memory in Susana Guerrero’s practice; and boundaries, borders, and identity in the work of Emilia Martín Fierro.
The exhibition shows particular significance in Miami, a city shaped by immigration, exile, cultural diversity, and constant transformation. From different artistic perspectives, the three artists invite audiences to reflect on how we inhabit the world, construct our identities, and interact with our surroundings.
