CCEMiami invites you to the book presentation XIX Yearbook Baquiana Literary Magazine (2018)
North American Academy of the Spanish Language (ANLE)
Spanish Cultural Center of Miami (CCEMIAMI)
Baquiana Literary Magazine & Baquiana Editions
Information about the book:
Baquiana Literary Magazine will present its XIX Yearbook or printed version of the publication at the CCEMiami as it is already a tradition every year since its inception. With over nineteen years of a literary presence, the magazine has been distinguished as one of the most emblematic Spanish magazines in the southeastern part of the nation, as well as one of the most important literary magazines in that language in the United States.
According to a study conducted by the current director of the North American Academy of the Spanish Language, Dr. Gerardo Piña Rosales, for the International Conference “Transatlantic New York” —an event co-sponsored by The City College of New York (CUNY), the Transatlantic Project at Brown University and the Cervantes Institute of New York— last year, Baquiana Literary Magazine was one of the three literary magazines chosen for such investigation due to the quality of its texts and its input to the Hispanic cultural development in the United States.
In both formats, digital and printed, the magazine has published numerous authors, from diverse nationalities of Hispanic origin, in all types of literary genres since its first issue in 1999. These features have turned Baquiana into the leading magazine among the Spanish literary publications of Miami and a reference magazine for reading in many universities of the United States and other countries.
