The Cultural Center of Spain in Miami (CCEMiami), in collaboration with Barry University, Department of English and Foreign Languages and the Studio for Languages and Cultures, joins the celebration of The Day of Spanish Cinema. Through different activities around the world, this celebration recognizes the role of filmmakers, and their influence and importance in the cultural and social life of Spain, as well as the heritage value of its cinema.
This year, we will present the movie Tasio directed by Montxo Armendariz a production of Elías Querejeta.

Synopsis: The life of Tasio, a charcoal maker from Navarre, over fifty years.
The story begins in his childhood and adolescence, with his first encounters.
his love affairs and his beginnings as a charcoal burner and poacher. Upon reaching maturity, Tasio marries Paulina and decides to earn his living independently, without relying on any patron.
The film will be presented by Professor Beatriz Calvo Peña (English subtitles).
