Friday, October 25, 2019.
Baquiana Editions, Baquiana Literary Magazine, The North American Academy of the Spanish Language and the Cultural Center of Spain in Miami have the pleasure to invite you on Friday, October 25th of 2019, at 7 p.m., to the presentation of the Yearbook of Baquiana Literary Magazine.
For the twentieth consecutive year, Baquiana Literary Magazine will celebrate the official presentation of its printed version in the new headquarters of the Spanish Cultural Center, reiterating its compromise with the cultural development and the good use of the Spanish language in the United States.
The magazine has been distinguished as one of the most stable and emblematic publications in Spanish within the southeast of the United States. In both formats, digital and printed, the magazine has published many authors of diverse nationalities of Hispanic origins and in all types of literary genres since its first issue in 1999. For these features Baquiana has become the leading magazine among the Spanish literary publications of Miami and a reference magazine in many universities of the United States and abroad.
Following the tradition of presenting each yearbook, in the month of October, during the Hispanic Month Celebrations, in this occasion Hispanic American academicians, poets, writers and plastic artists will join us, in order to give testimony of the twenty years of the publication. The presentation will be in charge of the directors of the magazine: Patricio E. Palacios and Maricel Mayor Marsán. The special guests will be: Dr. Martha García (professor of the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a member of the Editorial Board of the magazine), Waldo González López (poet, writer and literary critic), Emilio Héctor Rodríguez (plastic artist, founder and director of the “7 Plus One Art Project”) and the poets Ariel Aboal, Sabrina Román, María Juliana Villafañe and Omar Villasana Cardoza.
Free admission. Complimentary toast.
