Microtheater Miami is looking for original 15 minute plays for the following seasons:
Stories that come to live during Hurricane warnings and alerts. When you get a group of people together at someone’s house to ride out the storm together. Stories about the environment, climate change and the earth.
Tentative opening season: July 2020
Life has taken over social media platforms in twitter, facebook, instagram or tiktok. Things as simple as seeing an award winning chef cooking over recipes to a doctor offering his services via the internet.
Tentative opening season: August 2020
Open theme with only one requirement the music must be original. This a classic at Microtheater Miami and it is one of best seasons.
Tentative opening season: September 2020
Fantasy or reality? Who cares? Halloween season is here again and with it, new horror stories.
Tentative opening season: October 2020
The playwright has absolute freedom of approach and vision but always related to the theme for the season.
No need to be “local”, playwrights based outside of Miami are encouraged to submit; if needed, we can assist with procuring a production company and cast.
Those interested can send their plays or musicals in English or Spanish
The play can’t exceed fifteen minutes.
All works will be subject to an evaluation for selection by our literary committee. Whether your text is selected or not, you will be contacted by the organization informing about the result.
The shows will perform at Microtheater Miami, located in the patio of the CCEMiami during the whole season (usually 5 weeks) from Thursday through Sunday.
The first page of the attached document should have the title of the play, name, phone and e-mail of the playwright and indicate if the play has a director or cast attached.
The author must have the absolute rights of intellectual property, either in its original version or adaptation.
Plays must be original and without prior performances in Miami.
